Reduce your tiling costs

Find out how we are working to keep these costs to a minimum and the ways we can assist you by getting in touch!

As you will be acutely aware, material and transport costs are rising faster than we have seen in a long time and whilst we are all subject to these rising costs (unfortunately, our costs have risen on average 10 -12% this year, although we have absorbed as much as we can to minimise the impact to our customers), there are some ways that costs can be reduced.

Some suppliers use external haulage companies with set carriage charges in addition to a fuel surcharge due to increased fuel costs (at the time of writing this was currently an additional 7.5%). Whilst some suppliers opt for a minimum order value to receive free delivery, such as £400 or minimum weight such as 1000kg, anything below the minimum would incur haulage costs (as above). Not all of our suppliers charge for delivery, but the majority do.

One of the ways we aim to reduce these costs are by adding clients' orders together wherever possible, to divide the haulage cost amongst them, therefore reducing the cost significantly or enabling us to waive the costs where the minimum is met. This does, however, require advanced planning on behalf of the client. There is no guarantee we will have more than one client ordering from the same supplier but generally, we can work it this way.

The other way we aim to reduce costs, both in terms of money and time, is to ensure we have good stocks of core products such as adhesives, trims, and sundry items, along with the 50 colours of stocked grout and silicone, thus ensuring you don’t waste time or money waiting for the products or paying extra to get them in.

We are also working with different suppliers to keep these costs to a minimum, or if the order is large enough to absorb or reduce the costs, we will do so where possible.
